Generic InputBox for CMDs
Written in 2010 for the Windows versions of the time. Check that the tool or steps still suit your environment before using them.
Usage: CScript.exe //NOLOGO InputBox.vbs /SendTo:SOMEAPP.BAT /prompt:"YOUR PROMPT GOES HERE" /title:"YOUR TITLE GOES HERE"
Example: CScript.exe //NOLOGO InputBox.vbs /SendTo:RUN.BAT /prompt:"Please enter you name" /title:"Name?"
Value supplied will be send to RUN.BAT as %1

/SendTo: | Required. Program or batch file to start with the typed value. |
/prompt: | Text shown in the input box. Optional. |
/title: | Window title of the input box. Optional. |
The typed value is passed in double quotes, so use %~1 in the batch file to get it without them. The target is started and the script does not wait for it to finish.
Note: pressing Cancel still starts the /SendTo: program, with an empty "" argument. Check for an empty %~1 in the batch file.
